Calgary Park Micro-Plan
The Calgary Park Micro-plan builds on the City of Cleveland’s planned improvements for Calgary Park, leveraging park investments for broader community benefits. The Calgary Park Micro-Plan covers an area bounded by Denison Avenue to the north, Jennings Freeway to the east, Big Creek to the south, and Pearl Road to the west. The plan also includes recommendations for improved connections to the Towpath Trail, Historic Brooklyn Centre, and the Old Brooklyn neighborhood.
The six-month planning process included input from neighborhood stakeholders and residents. The plan outlines the history and existing conditions of the Calgary Park neighborhood and includes a range of short- and long-term recommendations for neighborhood improvements and strategies to build on.
NEIGHBORHOOD GOALS & IMPROVEMENT STRATEGIES:
Reinvest in the heart of Brooklyn Centre at Pearl and Denison to create a walkable neighborhood destination.
Improve neighborhood connections for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders.
Attract new businesses to the neighborhood and encourage housing investments and vacant land reuse.
